Hi! I'm Miss Christine.
You know that saying, “If you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life?” Well, that’s how I feel.
I have always been passionate about working with children and making a positive impact in their lives. There’s nothing like hearing a child say, “Thank you for teaching me how to read. I love reading because I'm good at it and because it's fun!"...and I get to be a part of that. My job is extremely rewarding and I truly love what I do.
A little bit more about me….
After 7 years teaching in a public school classroom as a kindergarten teacher and reading intervention specialist, I decided to start my own business as a private reading teacher and tutor.
Over my years in the classroom, it became evident that there was a need for personalized reading instruction. I had just moved to a new city and wanted the flexibility to use my passion and skills to help children in a way that I saw best fit and on my own time.
It was very exciting, as I always dreamed of being my own boss...but also scary to be starting an education business in a place where I didn't actually know anyone with kids!
Thankfully, it worked out well.
Shortly after posting about my services on a neighborhood app, I connected with a few families in need of reading support for their young children. Being very pleased with my services and the progress their children were making, those families began to tell their friends about me. Then those friends told other friends, and business took off from there!
Fast forward 3 years...
I have had the opportunity to help many more young children learn to confidently read. I continue to stay exceptionally busy, which is great, but I’m SO busy that I'm limited in who I can help.
That's why I created my Reading Readiness Course!
I want to make a bigger impact. Too many children are not effectively learning how to read and in turn begin to struggle. By teaching parents how to raise confident readers and pinpoint struggles early on, reading can become fun and enjoyable for many more children!
